Rossi Boots – A Review
Any trip to central Australia requires decent footwear especially if you aim to play the Bush Tucker man role. For me I have always chosen to wear a Rossi boot. On a recent 4×4 trip to Ayers Rock, Kings Canyon and the Oonadatta Track in outback central Australia, I chose to wear my Rossi Striker Tactical Boot. I like this boot due to the support it offers, being a lace up (with zip), but also the overall comfort.
Given the heat in the Northern Territory the fact that the boot integrates breathable nylon inserts into the leather upper was also a god send. While walking around the base of Ayers Rock, some 10 kilometres, I did not suffer any foot soreness or discomfort further illustrating to me how good this boot, which is primarily a boot worn by those in emergency service/defence force, is.
The cushioning and support offered through the sole of the boot belies its heritage of being the all Australian boot. Navigating my way around rocky out crops and climbing the steep inclines at Kings Canyon, including jumping across wide crevices, the boots felt sturdy and stable.
After three weeks of trekking around the Northern Territory the boots told the tale of many adventures but a quick a hose down and a lick of nugget and they were ready for the next adventure. Rossi Boots, are made in South Australia and have been for 100 years and this is another tick in my book, for who knows this country’s conditions better than Australians.
Overall the Rossi Strike Tactical Boot is a great boot for those seeking a reliable, comfortable boot which is Australian Made by Australians for Australians.
